When sharing photos via Messages, your location information is included without your consent, potentially disclosing personal details like your home address. This automatic tagging also extends to other privacy-sensitive metadata, revealing details such as when the photo was taken, the type of iPhone used, and even the orientation at the time.
Live Photos pose an additional risk as they display a one-second video before and after the capture, possibly exposing sensitive content from your surroundings like confidential documents or personal items.
Private Photos addresses these privacy concerns by scrubbing location and timestamp metadata from your images, allowing you to share moments securely while preserving essential details like image quality and color accuracy.
This tool ensures that only the static photo is shared via Messages, eliminating any inadvertently captured video segments that might contain private information. The original photo's location and timestamp remain intact for your reference, offering a blend of privacy and convenience when disseminating images.
It's noteworthy that Private Photos focuses solely on safeguarding privacy-related data and does not access or retain any user information or activity.
